The Vitality Mindset: Living with Intent

Burnout often stems from living reactively—responding to life’s demands without a clear sense of purpose. In my book, Yellow Light Moments, I describe the “Vitality Mindset” as a way to shift from habit to intention. It’s about asking, “Does this choice support the lifestyle I’m creating?”

What Is the Vitality Mindset?

The vitality mindset is a commitment to living with clarity and purpose. Instead of going through the motions, it encourages:

  • Self-Awareness: Understanding your needs and values.

  • Intentionality: Aligning daily choices with long-term goals.

  • Consistency: Building habits that support health and vitality.

Four Easy Steps to Cultivate a Vitality Mindset

  1. Reflect Regularly: Take Yellow Light Moments to evaluate your habits and patterns.

  2. Set Clear Goals: Know what you’re working toward in areas like health, career, and relationships.

  3. Make Daily Adjustments: Even small shifts, like drinking more water or taking a 10-minute walk, add up over time.

  4. Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge milestones to stay motivated.

Learn to Live Less Out of Habit

I like to remind myself, and my clients, to break free from being on autopilot. For example, you can replace the habit of skipping meals with intentional meal planning. Or maybe you decide to swap binge-watching for a relaxing bedtime routine. And if you’re an early riser, choose a morning walk over hitting the snooze button.

Your Nugget of Wisdom

“Intentional living isn’t about perfection—it’s about alignment.”
